Unmask the cost of commuting
What does your commute cost?
Most of us don’t want to think about all the additional
factors adding costs to our driving. But, what is the
true cost of driving on our roadways. How much do we
really spend on driving to and fro. According to the
surface transportation policy project “The
average Boston household spends nearly $6,000 annually on
transportation—15 percent of its income— and spends more on
transportation than it does on food.”
The true cost of driving alone has been masked behind the
“easy to figure” miles per gallon cost, when we fill-er-up.
But there are a few more costs to consider

In Massachusetts commuters usually can count on a real cost
per mile coming in somewhere around 45-55 cents a mile,
depending on the vehicle you drive and the price of gas at
the time.
So what does your commute cost you? It’s much more
than the price of gas, if you add all the contributing
factors up driving alone becomes an unmasked monster.
